Shower Thoughts

(just a page for putting silly little thoughts, will periodically update it; sorted most to least recent)

Curiosity and creativity drive culture and science; fear and formality ossify them – the moment controversy is lost is the moment they die.

The story of Sisyphus often neglects entropy. In a universe governed by disorder and fluctuation, no two pushes are ever the same. The incline erodes, the stone chips, Sisyphus himself changes – imperceptibly, but irreversibly. Thus, he continues – not seeking meaning, but drawn by the inherent variability of the system. One must imagine Sisyphus – not happy, but curious. He experiments: altering his grip, adjusting his stance, deviating from routine paths. His imagination flourishes; he questions, persistently, everything along the way. He engages with the process – not to complete it, but to explore its possibilities.

One man’s cringe is another man’s based.

The truth exists in two forms – the objective as ineffable and the subjective as transient.
The objective is ineffable because it is infinite and the human capacity is limited.
The subjective is transient because it is constructed and an illusion of the human mind.
To make sense of the objective, we must rely on the subjective in the form of belief.
The only subjective truth that aligns with the objective truth is infinite ignorance – I know nothing and I am wrong.
To deny this subjective truth in the pursuit of objective truth is to invite dogma, or finite ignorance.
In pursuit of the objective, belief is only valuable if it openly resists dogma.
In pursuit of infinite ignorance, we must embrace the transience of belief and the malleability of its construction.
A belief in pursuit of the objective should be judged by its capacity to withstand in spite of ignorance, not because of it.
True virtue lies not in being right, but in not being broken by being wrong.
True knowledge is not about certainty – it is about how skillfully one can live in its absence.
In the absence of certainty, creativity becomes the guide.

My life feels like a constant struggle between the whimsical sage of nonchalance, the virtuous monk of chalance, and a world that agrees with neither.

The waifu that can be touched is not the eternal waifu.

You’ve got to maintain your own whimsy to make the world livable.

The sage dissects the joke. The fool laughs at it. Together they are free.

You can ride the compounding wave… until the long tail of Zipf’s curse drags your momentum.

I’m more inclined to rocks than humans. Humans are too sentient, too horny, and too soggy.

Moment to moment, one observes only the variance – focus on the long-term trend!
