Sirnag


Sirnag are a type of poetic idiomatic expression used in Berlean. They usually consist of 12 syllables with an ABAB rhyme for every third syllable or an AAA rhyme for every fourth syllable.


ငီမ ဖီခြ ငာဂ ဝီင စုဖ ကဝု ဝီခ ဖုဇပာဂ ဇဧ ပီရ အဝု။
(niem pielk nag ‘ien srp khur ‘iek przbag zie biel thur)
Lit. “One who has a loud tongue and a quiet heart does not learn with his head.”
Meaning: “Someone who doesn’t think/imagine/listen can only learn from experiencing things first hand.”
